18 June 2009 Update
Our game of SKATE is meant for everyone to have fun, its our way of celebrating Go Skateboarding Day. It is not meant to be a serious competition with ranking and points etc. This competition is meant to encourage new skaters to try out competitions where they don't feel like they are at a disadvantage by the more seasoned skaters. So, we want to make it known that teams cannot have 2 person of the same standard. Your team partner has to be either better or lousier than you. It is under Go Sports discretion to split the team up if we decide a team has a unfair advantage.

Example - Gaute, Sebastian Cao, Dan, De ming etc cannot be in the same team, but they can be in the same team as i.e, Joe, Richie, Luke or Oscar.

If you are uncomfortable with the format of our competition, you can join the other competition held at the skatepark on 20 June 2009.

Post-game update.
Thanks to everyone who turned up for the competition yestertday to make it a success. The turnout was much better than we expected so we appreciate everyone's efforts to come down early to sign in and join in the fun.

We have receive comments that the judges werent fair in the judging and they werent knowledgable with tricks. We try to get judges who are fair, but also with technical knowledge to judge. Our judges tried their best yesterday, we appreciate your understanding if you think their technical knowledge is not up to speed.

There have also been comments that there were some 'pros' in this competition. It is very hard to define 'pro/good'. If you arent very good at skating, there will always be someone better, so will we consider these people 'pro/good'? We are sure the real 'pros' would have joined the competition at skatepark which offered much better prizes money and prizes than us, and this is why we stipulate the team has to consist of 1 stronger and 1 weaker team mate.

As to the competition should have been flat-land instead of using all equipment, we wanted skaters to feel like they had choices in what tricks they could do. If a team was better at ramps instead of flat-land, they could have used it to their advantage with their first tricks. We wanted it to be a all rounder competition, where not being technical on flat-land could have still given you a chance to win.

We appreciate all your comments and will take all these comments into consideration for our next competition. Meanwhile, we hope everyone had fun and if there is still some unhappiness about the competition, you can always email us @ nofakes@gosports.com.sg and let us know.
